All,
I got a brand new laptop complete with integrated wireless connection.
I am running XP but my connection keeps dropping and its driving me
insame!

The DSL router is a Netgear MR314.

I have tried updating drivers for the laptop but no success.

Any ideas? I have been warned against upgrading to XP service pack 2

Thanks in advance

Andrew

laptop powersaving features are disabling the network card?

By whom? You should definitely upgrade to SP2, it fixes a whole stack of
serious security flaws, plus it massively improves the firewall and
wireless support.

I have upgrade to SP2 with no problem but you may have to make a few
adustments as to the built in firewall etc.
Make sure you turn off 802.1x.......sounds like it may be your problem.
