wireless security question
i have a laptop and a wireless router
how do i secure it so just that lap can connect to it

filter the mac address...so that your laptop, and only your laptop, can
connect.  should be in the router settings

Turn on encryption.  If you can, use WPA; if you cannot, use WEP.  Only
restricting access to certain MAC addresses is problematic because it is
possible for someone to determine some of those MAC addresses and to then
pretend to be one of those MAC addresses.

    As Yves stated, enable encryption.  That's the only way to be sure.  Use
WPA if you have it.  If not, use WEP, but change your passphrase
periodically.
