Belkin Pre-n in vaio nvr23 dies all the time under Windows XP
constantly loses the connection to my AP. I used to reboot the machine to get it working again but have found out if I just take the card out and plug it back in it starts working again. Is anyone else having this problem ? I don't know if it is total crap drivers from belkin (probably), a problem with XP (probably) or if my aging D-Link AP is going out to lunch. Help, this sucks and is driving me insane. brainiac wrote:

You want each packet acked for example. You might want try playing with those settings. I have the Belkin Wireless Pre-N network adapter, version 1000, in my Compaq
Evo N610c laptop. I use the Belkin Wireless Client Utility with 128 bit WEP security encryption to configure the wireless connection. The Windows XP Wireless Connection Utility did not connect with the WPA security. The original network card driver was 1.2.0.68, and I upgraded it to version 1.2.0.80 a month ago. I installed the newer version without uninstalling the original version. I then began to get constant drop-offs and couldn't get the connection to stay up. In my frustrated phase, I called Belkin for support and the support rep was drawing a blank and started to tell me to use the Windows XP Wireless Connection Utility, even though Belkin recommends using the Belkin Wireless Client Utility. When I told him that the Windows XP Wireless Connection Utility had been a bust in the past, he came up with the idea to uninstall the newer version since it had been installed over the older version. I uninstalled all of the Belkin software, installed version 1.2.0.80, but still got the drop-offs. I then uninstalled everything again, and reinstalled the original version, 1.2.0.68. My connection is now consistent again.
