I am trying to help a mate set up a peer to peer wireless link between his
Sony VAIO and a desktop.  The desktop connects to the internet via a
satellite connection, and that connection is shared via ICS.  The wireless
in the Sony is inbuilt and the card in the PC is a D Link DWL-G520.  The
network is working, but I have three options for "network authentication"
and these are Open, Share and WPA-none.  What are these options and what do
I choose?

Both PCs running XP Home SP2

I would suggest 'network authentication'
