Browser link oddity

Since going wireless (ADSL wireless modem to single pc) there's a peculiar
fault. If I click on a URL link in an email, a browser window opens,
the progress bar says 'connecting to <URL>' but the address doesn't appear
in the main URL bar at the top, and the site never comes up, eventually
timing out.

Any ideas where to look for reasons, please?

Thanks,

Steve

Ancient pc, Win98SE, BT Voyager2000 modem, EDI 7117 USB Wireless stick at
PC end. Using OE6 and the problem happens whether IE6 or Firefox is set as
the browser that opens.

OE latest iterations or a Virus/Security program is protecting you.

Spot on, thanks. Not wireless at all, but coincidentally someone else
adjusting the firewall settings.

Cheers,

Steve
