I have a motorola wireless gateway router sbg900. My desktop has a netgear
wg111 wireless access point.
With assistance from my cable provider (telstra bigpond) I have the desktop
going ok with the router using WEP
connection with a set key. When I try to connect the COMPAQ 2566AP laptop it
tells me that it can see the network
named (Motorola43fs) but I can never get it to actually connect to it. To
make sure both network name and key are identical I
cut and paste both. I am running XP pro with service pack 2.

Any suggestions please?????

Disable WEP and see if you can get it to connect that way. After you get a
connection that actually works, then start adding security...
