how to capture video from a mini-dv

I have a Panasonic PV-GS33 mini dv camera. My PC is a Dell with XP
operating system with Media Center. I've had the computer for about 8
months, and have never tried to burn dvds from my mini-dv tapes. I
have no idea how to do this, but basically I'm having trouble
capturing the video from the camera to the pc. I have a program
called My DVD (Roxio) and when I try to use the program it allows me
to set everything up, but I cannot figure out how to download the
video. I have an S-video cable hooked up from the camera to the pc,
but I cannot get the video to show up on my pc. I know the cable
works because I can get the video to work on my tv. Any ideas or info
on what I should be doing? I'm probably missing something basic, but
I'm a rookie at this and at a road block. Thanks for any help/ideas.

Connect the camera to the PC with FireWire.
