I plan on capturing, editing all my old hi 8 and mini DV movies. My new
system has:

XPS 410, Intel Core 2 Quad Core Processor Q6600 (2.4GHz,1066FSB) with 8MB
cache



2GB DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz



256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS



Serial ATA 2 RAID 0 With Dual 750GB Hard Drives



I will be getting the new premiere elements as I don't think I need a more
expensive version just for these movies. There will be minor editing and a
few tapes that need color correction.

I will capture with input to my HC1000 from the analog hi-8, a DV/firewire
to the HD then fix then burn to DVD or blue ray (multiple copies). I plan to
copy the DVDs each year or two for preservation.



Do these plans sound OK or am I missing something for a high quality
archival process?
