Details of the LCD TV set can be found at http://www.sharpusa.com/products/ModelLanding/0,1058,1634,00.html Manual at : http://www.sharpusa.com/files/tel_man_LC20S5U.pdf The specifications say the following Video System NTSC (N358, N443), PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N, SECAM, PAL-60 Tuner Type (CCIR): NTSC, PAL-M, PAL-N TV tuning system: PLL 191 Ch Stereo: MTS + SAP CATV: 125 ch I am desperate for immediate information on this compatibility. I would greatly appreciate a response to clarify the above, as I would be travelling to India in 5 days. Thanks On Mar 17, 6:44 pm, cses***@gmail.com wrote:

The specifications look like it has a shot at working but there are so many unknowns that the risk would be high. Can't you wait and buy when you get there? With the Feb 2009 deadline fast approaching here in the USA when NTSC TV broadcasts are scheduled to cease, I sure wouldn't be buying a NTSC analog TV set today. I don't know if that deadline is worldwide or just in the USA. My advice, save your money and talk it over with the locals after you get there. Dave <cses***@gmail.com> wrote in message

Generally it is easier to take PAL equipment to NTSC land than visa versa
