can someone recommend a good portable dvd player that supports divx, mp3, xvid, asf, etc?

I had an AVAYON DXP1000 DVD Player
http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=3995425
which just about played everything, even ASF videos from my tapeless
camcorder
(my only complaint was it didn't play quicktime MOVs).
However it seems every DVD player I have lasts about a year - after my
2nd Avayon died (!) I'm looking to replace it with a portable player
with a little screen.

Can anyone recommend a good affordable model that similarly plays lots
of formats including MP3 audio, and has a good MP3 interface (lots of
DVD players truncate the song names)?

Much appreciated...

It's sounding like there might not be one, especially one that plays
MOV files.

Some players can get you DivX and Xvid AVIs, but I don't know about
ASF.

How are you defining "portable?"  I too was looking forward to hearing
people's recommendations for really small DVD players.

By portable I mean the little players with a 9 inch screen you can take
with you on a plane or car and watch movies on battery power. As long
as it plays DIVX, MPEG4/ASF, WMA, AVI and MP3 I'd be happy. MOV is just
a bonus. The Avayon player was fine, I would just prefer a portable
version...

I have been wondering if a laptop computer will play everything
as well as doing the computer things too? If it would --wouldn't
it be more efficient to buy a laptop ??? Just wondering --CF
