Hi,
I have a Canon ZR75 and have used it to record old family videos
from the vcr to the DV tape and then transfer to my computer and burn
to a dvd, but my question is, is it possible for me to just go from the
vhs to my computer through my camcorder, i have heard of it but dont
know if my camera can and it is mentioned nowere in the manual. Anybody
with experience with this or ideas please answer.

functionality, then it's definitely possible. Have you tried it?
What you need to do is, connect your VCR to your videocamera (use the
cable supplied with your videocamera) and then run a Firewire cable
from your videocamera to your PC. Then use you regualr dv-capture
software to transfer the video.
Some people have reported that they need to have a tape in the video
camera for the transfer to work, while for others it doesn't matter.

I've done a bit of research into your camera model, but I haven't found
any reference to the pass-through function. Though the Canon ZR85
does...
