is this really a digital ccd camera?http://www.2mcctv.com/specs/LTC%200335.pdf Bosch LTC 0335/20 1/3" IT CCD B/W Camera, 1/3" IT CCD B/W Camera, 380TVL Standard Resolution, Dual Voltage, Backlight Compensation, DC & Video Auto-Iris Lens Compatible, Line Lock Synch Security Camera features: * 1/3" IT CCD B/W Camera * High Sensitivity * Advanced Digital Signal Processing * Built on Bilinx Technology * 380TVL * Auto Detection of Lens Type * Dual Voltage * Easy to Install It says "digital ccd" on the side of the camera, but it has a BNC output on the back. I've tried capturing through an analogue capture card on my PC and I can see interlacing when capturing in AVI (uncompressed). I suspect this is an analogue cctv camera. If this camera is digital, how can I get the digital quality? The image quality with normal street lighting is very good, but I can't read car number plates. They seem distored and unreadable. Would I be better off capturing to video tape?

Would a higher zoom lens offer better reading of license plates for you maybe, just an idea. AnthonyR. AnthonyR wrote:

Actually, I don't think analogue cctv cameras are much good because of the composite output, ie: low bandwidth, and inputting this to to a computer card makes things worse because of interlaced frames from the camera. I get better results using my USB Toucam webcamera as a CCTV camera.
