How to get my Pinnacle cap. card working again?

I bought Pinnacle Studio DV deluxe long time ago, it came with the
firewire and analog capture card.  Windows crashed, and I installed XP
SP2. It's nagging me about installing drivers for the "multimedia"
card.  I still have the original 8.1 installation disks, but not the
case it came in, and so I don't have the S/N to enter.  Pinnacle says
if you lost your registration key, to go into HELP and find your
"passport" number. Then they will email the key to you.  can't exactly
do this when it won't install without a CD key. I have been using
Vegas Video....so I don't even really need the Studio DV software back
on the PC, I just need drivers for this capture card. Then hopefully I
could use Vegas Video to capture footage from my DV camcorder. But I
still do need the analog break-out box, as there is more VCR footage
to capture in the future.   Solution? Best to just pitch this card and
get a Canopus that has both firewire and analog inputs?
