Compressing 1gb video for web viewing

I apologize if this has been explained already, but I have not been
able to find any information to help me out with this.

I have some video I shot of a band playing. Now I want to upload these
videos onto the web so fans can see them. However each video is over 1
gb in size and most web sites only allow up to 100 mb. I did some video
compression, but it really causes the video to look blurry - sound
remains fine.

So the question is, what is the best way to compress such a large video
down to 100 mb with the least amount of loss of quality? I am using
Ulead Toolbox 2 to do the compression as of now. I tried Divx but that
was worse.

Thanks in advance!
