Playback of mini-DV tapes in a different camcorder than was used to take video

I have a broken JVC GR-DVL915U mini-DV camcorder.  There is nothing
wrong with the camcorder except it will not eject tapes, so I can't put
new ones in.  I just reuse the tape that is currently stuck in it.

My main problem is I have 5-6 mini-DV tapes I haven't transfered over
to my computer.  Is it possible to buy a new, maybe different brand
mini-DV camcorder and transfer over the video to my computer?

Thanks

As long as (1) the heads weren't out of alignment on the original camcorder,
and (2) the tapes were recorded in SP and not LP, you'll be able to play
them on another machine.  I routinely use an older camcorder for
transferring to the computer tapes that I shot on my newer and much more
expensive camcorder.  I do it this way to avoid head wear on the more
expensive machine.
