DVD players and DVD+R

I have a few DVD+Rs in my collection that will not play in my Samsung
DVD player.
Can I assume that they are simply incompatible? The owner's manual is a
bit vague.
The discs play fine on my computer DVD+R drive.

I had a Samsung DVD player for a while. At the time it was their top-of-line
player with DVI-D output. It would only play commercial pressed DVDs
reliably. I got rid of it and spent a little more on a Bravo D2 with no DMR
crap. I'm quite pleased with it.

Bye.

Try burning the DVD+R with the bitsetting set to DVD-ROM and see if it will
trick the Samsung into playing the disc. You can research how on google or
other how
to video sites. Good Luck!

Different players and, particularly, older players have trouble with various
kinds of burned media.  DVD-R tends to be slightly more compatible than
DVD+R, though it shouldn't matter with a modern player.  Different brands of
DVDs may produce different results.  Try burning your DVD at the slowest
speed.
