Question about DVD recording

I've been authoring DVDs for about 3 years now but have just bought a
push and play DVD recorder. I dumped a bunch of archival stuff to DVDs
and now I have a question.

Is there any way to digitally extract seperate titles from a finished
DVD? There are no copy right issues but my Mac has not let me just pull
segments from the DVD.

Any help is appreciated.

I tried Handbrake but it could not do anything with a DVD my
brother-in-law created ona PC with Pinnacle. I then tried OpenShiiva but
that produced a file that iMovie could not import and which appeared to
have no audio.

Gonna try MacTheRipper next.
