VHS to DVD: Do I have to have a combo?

Especially with a Philips DVD burner. Although, my understanding is that it is a DVD "recorder" and the term "burner" is reserved for a computer interfaced one that runs in greater than real time. Someone correct me if that is wrong. As I said in my previous post, it works like a VCR and you can record from tapes or off the air. I also use it's firewire connection to record video that I have edited on my computer, but in :real time", not like a software based burner. Dave

You knew that, Dave :-) While I'm here I might as well reinforce your remarks about what a recorder acts like.
