Apols for cross posting. I would like to know if there is a Video Camera that uses Solid State/SD/MMC/CF etc rather than tape, DVD or Hard Disk that has a Microphone Input. Thanks John <jmcalis***@gmail.com> wrote in message

Perhaps someone else can comment on the newer camcorders. Memory carrds are somewhat limited in capacity. You can get a lot of low quality QVGA resolution video on a Flash Card or SD card, but, VGA res recorded with high quality (sharpest definiton,, 30 fps, high audio sampling rate, stereo sound) can really eat up the memory. My Canon S2 IS (which is primarily a still camera, but also takes high quality VGA videos with zoom and stabilization) can get about 18 minutes of highest resolution video on a 2 GB SD card.
