SHARP PROJECTOR XR-20X is a DECEPTION

Bought (NEW) one five months a go and the lamp exploded after less than
150 hours use.

Sharp states lamps have only 90 days warranty.

Called SHARP and they argue the 90 days are set to avoid over usage of
lamp, that they assert in the advertising should last 3000 hours.

If you do the math, one should be running the PROJECTOR at least 33
hours per day each day to run the 3000 hours in 90 days.

The projector has a timer that tallies usage.

Projector is set on a table, free of any air flow restrictions and was
running with fan in high mode.

They advertise the projector as follows :

"...provides increased lamp life for reduced cost of ownership....."

Hope I can save someone else from falling in this very SHARP trap.

You must be a slacker if you can't use your projector for 33hr 20min a
day :-)

Thanks for the heads up (although I wasn't looking for a projector,
come to think of it!). Not a pretty picture (not meaning to pun).
