Going digital?
as you possibly know, I own an old analogue camcorder that I came into possesion partly because digital camcorders were then (2 years ago) very expensive and partly because the rest of the equipment (dvd burner) was also expensive. Now, of course everyone asks me for dvds from my footages:-) Now, the question:is it worth trying to do analogue capture (Celeron 1.8 GHz, win 2k greek, sis chipset, geforce 4 mx 440 agp 8x with video-composite plug)or should I, like everyone else, go digital?I find especially nice the sony DCR-HC23 E camcorder which sells here for just 370 euros, put a 100 more for a good dvd burner, case, filter and firewire card for my celeron 2.4 GHz machine, QDI p4 848 i, 80 GB, 512 MB,geforce 4 mx 440 agp 8x but only with s-video on the vcard?I think the latter would be better. TIA, -- Tzortzakakis Dimitrios major in electrical engineering, freelance electrician FH von Iraklion-Kreta, freiberuflicher Elektriker dimtzort AT otenet DOT gr In my opinion you're better served with a MIni DV camera
if you want to play your old 8mm tapes you can check http://hometheater.about.com/cs/vcrs/a/aa8mmtovhsa_2.htm with the information you need to do so. But since you're going digital make sure to go all the way. i would recomend that when you get the chance or have the means to do So that you upgrade your computer the celeron will show you its limits once you try to do anything fancy with the video ( cross fades, titles, etc) ? <javier.si***@gmail.com> ?????? ??? ??????
