I have a ZR400 and Adobe Premiere.  I want to hook an external
microphone, is there any adapter or trick on the zr400 to get an
external
microphone connected?  Or is there another option someone could suggest
as I'm a novice with Premiere and editing but having good success...
should I record my audio on another device and sync it later??

Thanks,

Either it has a microphone jack or it doesn't.
If it doesn't, you're out of luck.  If it does, just
plug it in.  Not trick, unless there is more to your
question than you have written.

We don't know what you are doing, so offering any
options would be wild speculation. There may be
other options, but whether they are practical depends
on many things which you have not revealed.

Mic selection, etc.  doesn't really have anything to do
with Premiere.

just need some quality audio with less hum, but the ZR400 doesnt have
a MIC input....... does anyone have a solution for this to somehow
magically
plug a mic into these ZR cameras? Canon website nor the manual shows
any option clearly, has anyone else figured a solution or am i stuck
recording audio externally?

When I was looking at consumer level camcorders, very few come with mic
inputs.  I would record the audio externally then synch it to the video
track.  This is not that hard and I have done it for a few wedding
projects.  Just import the audio, then match up the words on the
external audio to the words that were recorded by the camera, then
diable the camera audio.
