Can EXT 2 (AV) on Samsung LE26R41BD be connected to an VCR for record?

I am trying to connect up a Samsung LE26R41BD for an elderly friend.
There are 2 Scart connectors at the back labelled EXT 1 (RGB) and EXT 2
(AV). Can I use any of these connector to connect to an external VCR so
he can record program? I can't seem to find whether these are IN or OUT
on the manual. I am not a technician so would really appreciate the
help.

Thanks,
Petre

You should use EXT1 for the out, but it probably does not make the slightest
difference. The SCART system uses both input and output connections in the
same plug, but the pin numbers change. This is why you need to select IN or
OUT on these SCART to S-video adapters.

The easiest way is to "suck it and see".

Hi Thanks! I just realised I have a bigger problem!
I tried hooking it up to the VCR via EXT 1. The normal channels scan ok
but all the digital channels got by passed. Apparently, the decoder is
in the TV, so how can I cable the devices so he can *record* digital TV
channels?

A the moment, there is an arial cable going from the wall to the VCR,
then another arial cable that goes from the VCR to the TV. There is
another SCART cable that also goes from the VCR to the TV EXT 1. But
since the digital signals are decoded when they reach the TV, is there
a cabling option that allows these decoded signals to go back to the
VCR to be recorded?

Thanks again.
