analogue to digital
I want to convert my Hi8 movies to Dvd and I need to know the best camcorder for the job. Does anyone know which digital8 models have analogue to digital or if dv ones can also do this I only know about the sony trv-340 so far. used digital 8 are ok. 800k sensors seem better Philip S wrote:

If you mean mini-dv, yes, some models have pass thru and could also serve. Barring, that. you could always copy from your hi-8 to any D8 and then input to the computer, but that involves that extra copy step that you probably don't want. Lacking passthrough, the above is more convenient than copying via the analog connections. It might even prevent one extra generational loss due to the analog copying step.
