noise on movies

Can anyone tell me if there is any prefereably free software to get rid of
the hissing on avi mjpeg movies
I am new to this and while movies are vg from my new canon a620 the noise
kind of spoils them

There is a free program called Audacity that is supposed to do noise
reduction on audio files (I haven't tried it).  You may need other
software (e.g. TMPGEnc) to demultiplex the audio from the video first.
