HD playback... Question.
i have recently acquired some footage shot on a Sony HDR-FX1... i am unfamiliar with the HD workflow, but was under the impression that HD footage shot on mini-DV tape, could be played back at SD on a regular (non-HD) mini-DV deck. my experimentations suggest that this is NOT the case. could some knowlegable scholar confirm this suspision for me?? peace ? thanks! mool On 14/9/05 9:12 PM, "evolutioniso***@linuxmail.org"

Presumably the HDV decks will do a similar thing. Although the camera records on a MiniDV tape, it can record either a
HDV or a DV signal. If you recorded HDV on the tape, you must use a HDV player (a HDV deck like the Sony HVRM10U or a HDV camera). If you recorded DV on the tape, then any DV player will work. - Tom evolutioniso***@linuxmail.org wrote: Show quoteHide quote > hi, > > i have recently acquired some footage shot on a Sony HDR-FX1... > > i am unfamiliar with the HD workflow, but was under the impression that > HD footage shot on mini-DV tape, could be played back at SD on a > regular (non-HD) mini-DV deck. > > my experimentations suggest that this is NOT the case. > > could some knowlegable scholar confirm this suspision for me?? > > peace ? thanks! > > mool
