Digital Betacam is really not widely used amongst TV stations with the
possible exception of the production department.  It is even on the
slide in production houses.  I have never found in the the news
department.

ENG is spread all over the map.  Amongst the stations we service you
can include DVCPro, DVCAM, Betacam IMX, Betacam SX, XDCAM and more.

Production houses are doing a lot on mini dv now.  The cost is modest,
HDV is available and the range of camcorder options at a reasonable
price point is wider than ever.  Even among the ones that have Digital
Betacam capability they often find it less expensive and satisfactory
to the client to use mini DV or DVCAM.

When HD is involved most better post houses use HDCAM or HDCAM SR.  As
HDV, P2 and other HD formats evolve you will see more and more of that.

Yeah, I was basing that on work with various post houses, not broadcasters.
