I don't think there are 100X zooms made for ANYTHING!   If there were,
it would be very big and very expensive.

If you want advice on what accessories are available for your camera
you're going to have to tell us .......no - you guess what :-)

If your camera has (3) 2/3" imagers, and a 2/3" B4 or B3 mount, any
long "sports" lens can be mounted, including 55x, 66x, 70x, 87x, 101x
which would all be Fujinon models.  Canon makes their own.

DVCAM camera examples that could mount to these lenses would be Sony
DSR-500 or DSR-570, or an Ikegami HL-DV7W (and others).  If your camera
is not one of these, you can rent both the lens and the camera.

Indeed.  But he was asking for a 100X zoom, not a teleconvertor.  And
I strongly suspect it's a domestic camcorder.   If he owned a pro
camera the question wouldn't need asking here.

It is a domestic, I want to be able to magnify images drastically, like
skin. Thanks

So you want high magnification of close objects, not distant objects?
Does your camcorder have interchangeable lenses?  (Probably not).

You can get moderate magnification using closeup lenses mounted
in front of the main lens.  For more magnification, you can take an
ordinary 50 mm lens from any 35mm SLR camera manufacturer and mount it
*reversed* in front of the camcorder lens.  Ideally, you'd get a special
reversing ring adapter that has threads on both sides - one thread is
the proper size to screw into the video camera filter mount, and the
other is the right size to screw into the 50 mm lens thread mount.

Visit your library, find some good still photography books, and look up
"macro photography"

The lenses I showed as examples are all zooms.  None are
teleconverters.

Regarding whether his camera would or would not work, I mentioned what
type of mount and imagers he would need, and then recommended he look
at renting the camera should his camera not fit the bill.

I can see zooms up to around 15X in the Fujinon range.  And some very
long prime lenses.  Did I miss a 100X zoom?

My mention of teleconvertors was based on the assumption that he had a
domestic fixed-lens camcorder.   Anyway, it now transpires he wants a
close-up lens, not a tele, zoom or otherwise :-)
