How do we create BIN (and CUE) files?

I have CDRWin, but have wasted a lot of time trying to figure it out.
I've googled and found many, many references on how to deal with BINs
but very little on how to actually create them.  Tx.

BIN and ISO files are (almost) the same thing. To create a BIN or ISO
file use either ISOBuster or MagicISO. The Help on ISOBuster is very
good and explains all you need to know about images like these.

If you are simply extracting a BIN or ISO file (to either CD, DVD or a
folder) then Nero will do this.

Although you haven't asked, if you want to distribute a BIN or ISO over
the Internet, then you should use WinRAR and QuickPAR. The first splits
up the ISO into smaller files. QuickPAR  creates a recovery set of files
so if one or more of the RAR files is damaged in transit (or lost), the
whole set can be recovered using one or more of the PAR files.

If you want to know more come back with any questions you might have.

I burn a lot of VCDs.  To create BIN/CUE sets from VCD-compatible MPEG
files I use VCDGear. http://www.vcdgear.com/

Put a disc in.  Open CDRWin.  Select Upper/Middle square (arrow pointing
to computer) - Extract Disc/Tracks/Sectors.  "Extract Mode" at the top
should have "Disc Image/Cuesheet" selected (by default).  This mode
creates bin/cue.  For "Image Filename", click the "..." button at the
right, navigate to the directory you want the image saved and specify
the image filename.  Click "Save" and then click "Start" button at
bottom to generate bin/cue.  See Help for more details.

Thank you so much for all the replies.  Appreciate it!  I was
distracted by everyone going on holiday (and having to replace them)
and a move in the office, so finally able to come back and take care
of personal stuff! <g>

Didn't know that.  I have this fw somewhere.  Will also check it out.
