New tv makes high pitch "tinnitus like" sound
sound that is just like tinnitus. (That kind of "ringing in your ears" sound if you've been exposed to too much loud music.) It's not too loud, but causes kind of "listener fatigue" after about 20 minutes. Are some brands more prone to this than others? (Mine's a Philips) Is there anything that can be done to reduce this sound? It's a shame, because my older non-widescreen tv did not do this. Regards, dnw. <do***@hotmail.com> wrote in message

I'm not aware of anything that can fix it, short of replacing the flyback transformer. Show quoteHide quote > > Regards, dnw. > > Thank you. I have emailed Philips customer services, and depending on
what they have to say, I might send the unit back to the online retailer where I bought it from for a replacement. Although the sound is not very loud, it's spoiling my enjoyment of watching tv/dvds.
