Recommended camcorder repair stations?

I've got a Sony PD150 and a Canon 100MC that are working fine, but I
feel it's time to have a professional clean them and make sure they're
okay.

My luck with independent outfits has been very poor. I would be
inclined to use the Sony and Canon factory network but worry that they
too will have a collection of good and bad guys.

Anyone care to recommend a reliable favorite?

I find my neighborhood Sony pro repair shop to be quite
competent. (Pro Video and Tape in Beaverton, OR)

But since you didn't say where you are, seems unlikely that
you'll get any recommendations in your area.

Good point - I wasn't necessarily thinking "local" since "competent"
is so far above that on the list, but my loc is eastern Los Angeles
burbs.

The real Sony service place is in the LA area, isn't it?
That's where I sent my DSR-300 for warranty replacement.
Seems likely that the real Panny service place is around
there somewhere, also.

Yeah, Sony has a repair station in Tustin, iirc. I brought them a
cellphone once, which they exchanged. Trouble with using Sony,
according to some, is that they charge the same flat rate for blowing
dust off the lens as for replacing the transport. I actually don't
think that's the case for PD150 but regardless, I'd expect them to be
quite pricey for whatever they do. And not necessarily better than a
well-recommended independent shop. But it looks like no one has
anything to say other than your Oregon recommendation, so I'll
probably check with them (Oregon).
