Hi all, I have a sony TRV-340E that has been working fine, I put in an older
tape that I havn't viewed in a while and all I got was a blue screen, on
rewinding a bit it cleared and played normal.

Today I tried same tape and can only get blue screen and no sound, and if I
stick in my current tape it plays but with  3 gray bands across the screen.

What does this sound like?

Thanks
Tom

I don't know.  You've only mentioned the video.   What DOES it sound
like?  :)

But, yes, cleaning the heads would seem to be a no-brainer  :-)

Dirty or damaged Video Head.

Try to clean it.

I had this happen a couple of times on a TRV520.
