LANC adaptor - strike 2

I built the Sony LANC to LPT adaptor spec'd here:
http://www.ncf.ca/~af895/LANC/gen2.html

No joy. The DVin-Lite program didn't detect the camera in any mode.

Next step is to try a desktop system, however, I'm skeptical this will
change anything as my notebook has a desktop chipset. (some reports indicate
notebooks have problems interfacing via LPT/LANC with the cameras)

We'll see.

Might come to pass that I'll have to purchase the Sony Service Remote.
<sigh>
I so much prefer to make do with what I've got!

Will report back after the next attempt.

The RM 95 is usable for a lot more. It is fully portable and can
control VCR and Camera functions including zoom.

Hi Bob!

I'm starting to look at the RM95 as an investment for more than just
"hacking".

I take it the version you suggest will let me enter "service mode" so I can
enable Zebras, manual white balance etc?

I see a lot of "LANC controllers" used for slow zooms and such - can I do
that with the 95 or does it just zoom at the camera default rate?

Thanks!
Chris

I carry the  RM-95 'for adjustment' model which is the latest service
tool model. It is a single speed zoom, about the low middle of the zoom
speeds.
