Hi

If I wish to record a program on my DVD Recorder (or VCR), I have to
first program my cable box to set the channel, time etc, then I have to
program my DVD recorder (or VCR).  Is there a device available that
makes this easier, or can program everything at once???

Thanks
Ian

Some units do have a 'mouse' to control cable boxes, but if yours
doesn't then consider a universal remote the controls all the units,
does macros and has a timer built in.  The Philips TSU3000 Pronto is
one (and fairly expensive).  You may want to search for others.
