Hi

This is my first time on this group, so i don't know if this has been
asked about before.
I bought an HP DC5000 in hopes of transfering my collection of VHS
tapes to DVD and preserving them for more years. But, when i try to
transfer directly to DVD, the program wont let me. It tells me the tape
is copy protected and then it closes the program. I can get around this
by copying the tape from my vcr player through another capture card
that i have in the computer, and than transfer to DVD by using the
program that came with the DC5000. This is of course an extra time
consuming step. I would like use the direct capture as it keeps the
chapters. Does anyone know how to get around the copy protected thing?
Any program or any fix that i don't know of? I am copying for my
own/home use and am not breaking any laws.
What i have bought is an expensive DVD burner with a copy attachment
that i can't use. Makes on feel kind of stupid.
Thanks for any help, it will be appreciated.
