i.Link (ieee 1394) video capture software
i.link (ieee 1394/firewire) port. I have a card in my windows pc, and a cable. The Sony software is useless. I want to capture the video through the firewire to my HD, make some really simple edits (like cutting a segment to length), and record them to DVD. I've got the Ulead Burn Now software, and it functions for making the DVDs, so now I need the software to get the video off the handycam and cut it to length. I'd like something simple and cheap -- I don't need any fancy features. Bob Don't know what version of Windows you're using but Windows XP comes with
Windows Movie Maker (free). It'd probably work fine for most of what you're doing. (though I've never burned a DVD from it - don't know if it can do that) C.j Show quoteHide quote "bob" <n**@not.not> wrote in message news:AP5ce.106467$f%4.64522@bignews1.bellsouth.net... >I have a sony D8 (digital recording on 8mm tape) handycam. Scenalyzer is best in my opinion.

Thanks for the link - I'd NEVER heard of CapDVHS until now and I've
been looking for a no-frills, bare-bones capture tool to save me the trouble of going into Premiere Pro. Thanks! C.
