English:
How can you make a 18year old guy look like an old man? We're going to
spray his hair grey, but what about his face? White make-up? ..
Thx for you explination.

Dutch:
Hoe kan je een 18 jarige jongen er laten uitzien als een oude man? We
gaan zijn haar grijs spuiten, maar hoe zit het met zn gezicht? witte
make-up?

One way to do this effectively (but it is really hard on the talent's face)
is to use thin liquid latex and pull the skin tight and paint a little on
the tight skin. Using a blow-dryer dry the latex well, not just "to the
touch".

When you let go you will notice the skin wrinkle-up quite naturally. A
little eyebrow pencil in the cracks and this looks VERY good. It also
allows the actor to "act through" the make-up.

Don't put too much latex on, it'll clump and take forever to dry.

Make sure you have a damned good make-up artist. I have seen some
make-up school students doing this, and it looked crap. Ask to see
their portfolio before you make a decision!

Zorg er voor dat je een verdomd goeie make-up artiest krijgt. Ik heb
werk van make-up studenten gezien, and het ziet er vaak slecht uit.
Vraag voor hun portfolio, voor je een besluit neemt.

Whatever you're planning to do, take a hard look at the result then do
HALF of it.   Or even less. Especially for video, where there may be
close-ups.

If this is a straightforward case of a young actor cast as an old
character, think hard about finding an older actor.    If the young
actor MUST play it - maybe the story centres on his aging - be VERY
subtle with make-up and concentrate much more on his acting skills.

An audience will accept a young-looking appearance as long as the
characterisation is old.   But it will find it hard to do anything but
laugh at over-the-top makeup.
