Unless it has a fan in it, it probably has to do with the fluorescent back
light system and it needs repaired.

I am guessing that it may in fact be worth gettting a new one rather than
getting it repaired. Any idea how much it normally costs and even who does
it.?

No, I've never heard of someone getting one repaired, except under warranty,
and I didn't see the price then. Also, what it would cost here in the US and
there in the UK may be different. If you check with the manufacturer, they
may have an "authorized repair center" that they deal with, otherwise, just
about anyone who repairs laptops can probably repair an LCD monitor.

Fixed it , seems like a thin metal plate that  guess protects it from dust
was touching a capacitor on the monitor , cut a small tiny hole in the metal
plate put it all back together again and no more buzzing....

Excellent. If you aren't afraid to open it, it's always worth a look.
