Hello, I hope somebody can help me,

I have an old PC that has been just ticking over just enough to use
for storing/editing photographs and word-processing.

I am planning to get a new computer this year. However, my computer
will not switch on. After working perfectly well one day, it would
not turn on the next. Nothing at all. Is it the power source or the
switch or could it be something more complicated?

If it is something that will be expensive to replace/fix would I be
able to access the hard drive some other way just to save some
important files that i want to keep??

i would appreciate any advice... :?

It might be due to the failing of Power Supply Unit (PSU) ...

Rarely is that the result of a bad switch, 99% of the time it's a bad
power supply............   Probably about a hundred dollar repair job
at a computer repair shop.   I owned a computer store and fixed
computers for 10 years.  If you don't want to spend the money to fix
the problem you can put the hard drive in another computer and access
your data, which is most likely fine.
