Hi,

I have a Radeon 9250 Card with S-Video out, and I'm trying to get it working
with my flatscreen Sony TV (48V80).  I can get a stable picture, but with lots
of interference... wavy vertical lines right across the screen.. nothing seems
to get rid of it..

I tried connecting S-Video to a smaller and older Sony TV, and the picture is
almost crystal clear !  I have also tried connecting my DVD player to the new TV
via S-Video, and again perfect picture !

Is there something about this TV or card that's causing an issue ?

Regards,
Chris

Is it a problem with the flatscreen's refresh rate?

I've tried setting the refresh rate of the card to 60, 70, and 85Hz without any
change, I didn't bother trying anything higher..

Many of the models of the LCD TV sets are very critical to the sync, and
blanking phase. They are also very critical to the sync frequency, and sync
stability. The CRT sets are very forgiving with small errors. The accuracy
of your display card will play a big part in this.

Going by your description, it is the display card in the computer that lacks
the accuracy for your LCD TV set. I have seen this many times. To have the
accuracy that you require, you will have to spend many more dollars on the
display card.
