help, please- broken pin on HD...
Pins 1 and 2 broke off on my Hard Drive (Maxtor Plus 8) One is the ground, the other is Reset IDE... I assume I s/b Ok regarding the ground as there are others... if not, please let me know.. What is the function of Reset IDE? I am concerned not to use this as a primary drive, so I 'ghosted' it. Is it Ok as a second drive, or is it no longer reliable all together.. thank you... -- B'Regards, Vinnie Uncle Vinnie wrote:

I was also thinking I may want to get to the circuit board
and solder a jumper from the broken pin (board side) to the ribbon cable! I will take a look at it...I don't have an extra
drive around (after tossing out the old ones some time ago) but I'm sure I could find something in my box with parts/soldering iron, etc... Thanks!
