Creative Labs Settlement re: 24bit/96Hz Deceptive Marketing
"... Litigation concerns the first Audigy and Extigy lines of sound cards manufactured by Creative Labs, Inc. (“Creative”) which plaintiff claims were falsely advertised in that they did not process sound at 24 bit/96kHz for all functions: Audigy ES, Audigy Platinum, Audigy Platinum EX, Audigy Gamer, Audigy MP3+, and Extigy sound cards (all of these are called “Sound Card(s)”). Creative denies the claims made in this Litigation, and denies that anyone has been harmed or deserves compensation in relation to the claims." "If you wish to submit a claim, you must do so by September 22, 2005" 25% off purchase from their website, if you really wanted to do business with them again? Might be cheaper to get it elsewhere though... Audigy 2 ZS for example is $100 on their 'site but $60 & up elsewhere. How they arrived at this laughable settlement I'll never understand but regardless... http://www.audiocardsettlement.com/ http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=22019 On Thu, 24 Mar 2005 00:52:59 GMT, kony <spam@spam.com>

They got considerably more than a coupon. We all pay so the trial lawyers can play their legal system slot machine for all it's worth.
