how can i tell if the USB ports on my system are USB2?

i am using a MSI KT6V Motherboard and have used the headers on the board to
connect up some bracket type things that slot into pci slots on back of case

so how can i tell if their usb 2 is their a way of identifying them in
windows XP?

In device manager look at the USB entries. If
they are "enhanced" then they are 2.0.
Your mobo only has 2.0 on it though.

KT6 chipset (southbridge) does feature USB2.  If OS is
working properly w/Service Pack it should be in USB2 mode.
In Device Manager it would list USB2 or "Enhanced", EHCD
rather than OHCD.

And/or see "VIA USB2.0 Patch" here,

Plug USB2 device into all ports and see how fast it works?
