Hi,

I’m trying to put together a system. I have everything hooked up. But
I can’t install an OS.

When I try to install WinXp it goes through the bue screen set up
where it loads a bunch of drivers and dll’s, but after then I get
another blue screen that says windows has detected a hardware problem
and cannot continue.

When I try to run a Linux LiveCD (Suse 9.1), it boots up but never
gets past the loading screen.

The system specs are:
Soyo kt600
Kingsten 512mb pc3200
Athlon XP Mobile 3000+
PNY Personal Cinema 5700
Segate 200gig ATA100 2mb cache
Sony 12x DVD-RW
Antec SmartPower 300 watts

I’m not sure where I could have gone wrong. I’ve only put together a
system one other time, and everything went flawlessly.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

the normal things to try:

use a minimal hardware configurartion

try a different cdrom (or r/w)

try clocking the system down a bit

also run a ram test and harddrive diagnostic
