DVD vanishing

Greetings to everybody

I've got a problem with my DVD. When I insert a CD it doesn't autorun
although I've verified all the options (included those of the registry). It
work rarely. If I restart my computer it vanish, it come into view olny if I
switch off and switch on it. I've verified if there were a conflict with the
DVDRW but nothing. I've got Windows XP HE SP2.

I've forgotten the -s of the plural,don't you pay attention!

If it sometimes works, then check the cable connection - it might be
loose. Otherwise, it might be failing.
