Does your motherboard manufacturer have SATA drivers for Win98?

I've got some strange cd with motherboard (GIGABYTE GA-8TRS350MT) where are
only drivers for PCI SATA Controler (so the help says). I can format the
drive with fdisk, I can install win98 on drive, but i get lack of data
transfer, and windows need approx. 5-10min to boot up. On the secon boot
(again 5-10min of waiting) I get blue screen with msg. that some important
files missing.   :(

If the SATA drive is set as the primary boot drive, win98SE should see
it as just another IDE drive.  I haven't encountered any weirdness
yet, but then I don't use win98 as my primary OS, and I've only been
using a SATA drive for a month or so.

Yup. Done it with my Asus A8V on the secondary SATA drive (from the
southbridge's controller).
