Cannot Set Boot.Ini Timeout to Zero
startup from my computer, because I only have one OS on my hard drive. I was advised to set my boot.ini file timeout to zero, which I did. Last week, something changed my timeout value to "3." I have tried to set it back to zero, using msconfig, but when I set the value to zero, I get an error message that says, "Please enter a value between 3 and 999 seconds." So, now I have the boot menu for 4 seconds when I boot my computer. Is there a way to get rid of the boot menu? Thank you. In article <1110224841.210225.180***@z14g2000cwz.googlegroups.com>,

Your instructions took me generally where I needed to go,Uncheck > display list of operating systems. though I could not follow them exactly. I had to go: Control Panel - Performance and Maintenance - System - Advanced Tab - Startup and Recovery Setting button - uncheck "Time to display list of operating systems" That has set the boot.ini line back to zero. |
