PCI card?

Hello,

Just bought a older machine for office applications and surfing
the web. It's a Compaq deskpro PIII 866MHz. I wanted to equip it
with a spare a WLAN card I've got lying around but I'm not sure
whether this will work. Would a PIII 866MHz machine (Intel 815e
chipset - according to AIDA) have PCI v2.2 compliant slots?

Thanks in advance.

The board should support it.  Its pretty old, but then again, with the
correct drivers, it might just work.  If not, I doubt it will harm the card.
