I am running Win XP Pro. Since installation my system always reboots itself
and blue screens with physical memory dumps. Does anyone have any ideas of
what I can do to fix this without reinstalling the OS?

I have win xp pri with sp2
Also Mcafee virus program installed

Also I fixed my problem with the corrupt/missing error msg by installing the sata drivers for my motherboard.. no more error screen when I power up my system.

My system always reboots itself everytime i power up my system.. It must reboot itself like 3 times b4 I can actually get into windows and sometimes when I am in windows, it will reboot itself there as well..

any ideas??

Thanks

You've not given us any info whatsoever. "Blue screens with physical memory
dumps" doesn't tell anyone anything. As you've been so vague, the best I can
do is send you here http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm. There you will find
troubleshooting info for many common - and not so common - Windows XP STOP
errors.

Disable the reboot-on-error setting in Winxp.  Google for it
if you dont' know how.

Scan for spyware, viri, trojans, and disable all things
loading automatically.  THEN try to replace the problem,
isolate it.  Check voltages, temps, and disable hardwares if
nothing else seems to help, isolating hardware or trying
different driver.  Note that the Event Viewer may have some
clues.

You might uninstall that and any other McAfee/Norton/etc
bloatware and see if problem persists.  Not that I recommend
doing without AV permanently, but for troubleshooting
purposes.

Do you typically chose to not install all drivers?
Maybe you missed more than the one?  Check Device Manager.

Oh well that adds the power supply to the equation, or maybe
motherboard failings (like capacitors).  Pity you didn't
mention any of your hardware in a hardware newsgroup.  For
the OS you might try a WinXP related group, if none of the
aforementioned things help.

It could be a power issue, when your PSU isn't powerfull enough. Or you
could be suffering from blown capacitors on the systemboard. Also try a
memorytest, bad memory can also cause reboots.

It would help if, once you finally get booted,  you would go to Control
Panel/System/Advanced and under Start Up and Recovery and remove the
check,
if there, from Automatically Restart checkbox.  Now when XP wants to
reboot
because of an error, it will give you some indication of what caused it.
That info MIGHT be helpful in determining what happened.

Good luck.

Disable it to restart on error. This way, you should get a screen telling
you the error codes if possible. Some common causes are a defective or
undersized power supply, or there is a RAM that is failing. I have seen many
other things also cause this, including a defective display card. The best
way to fix this is to start with the error codes. Then there is the process
of elimination. If you look in the event viewer, you may also get some hints
to what is going on.
