BIOS flash for Sempron on M7NCG-400
Biostar website, but I need to know if they have a BIOS update for their M7NCG-400 motherboard so that it will properly recognize a Sempron. A friend's Athlon XP 2000+ died and as I can't get an XP, I tried a Sempron 2400+. It works fine, but at FSB 166 it shows the actual clock speed in POST as an Athlon XP 1666MHz (not a + PR) and Everest Home 1.51 shows it as an Athlon XP 2000+. I don't need to do the flash right now but I do need the info. Can anyone please help ? On Mon, 28 Feb 2005 01:18:28 +0530, "Zotin Khuma"

Personally, I'd rather see the MHz rating. If your friend needs convincing then a simple Google search should turn up the MHz speed of that Sempron. > There were probably several bios updates since the one that>I don't need to do the flash right now but I do need the >info. Can anyone please help ? first recognized any Semprons, just use the newest bios as it might resolve any other random bugs too, or leave current bios, it's only a cosmetic problem. |
